Porsche Boxster Reviews
Staying true to itself, the Porsche Boxster design reflects its inner values. At Porsche, functionality and design have always been closely linked, thus creating conceptual coherence. Every detail is the same principle: dynamic stability and taut lines. Each line of the Porsche Boxster gives an impression of sportiness, starting from the front. The generously proportioned openings are perfectly aligned, which further enhances the dynamic appearance and the unique style of Porsche.
The new Boxster headlight design follows earlier models. In the original version, both are equipped with halogen headlights with parking lights fitted with LEDs, integrated optical interface, above the lateral ventilation grilles. The rear features LED technology that extends the lines of the bodywork. Another decisive factor in the sporty design are the tires. The Porsche Boxster comes with 17-inch rims, while the Porsche Boxster S adopts 18-inch rims. With the option on both models of a 19-inch upgrade.
A very important concept with Porsche is that each element has a function. In the Boxster models, design and functionality make a perfect match.
Porsche Boxster Specs:
In the Boxster, the 2.7-litre horizontally opposed six cylinder engine delivers 265HP, while the Boxster S, the 3.4-litre equivalent generates 315HP. Both mid-mounted engines feature direct fuel injection (DFI) and VarioCam Plus for a significant increase in both power output and efficiency. The SPORT button on the console is fitted as standard and opens up even more agile responses. This engine is powered by a 6-speed manual transmission with an optional 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).
The front brakes have a greater surface area for improved braking performance. The Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) is available as an upgrade, the electric roof of the Boxster opens and closes in around nine seconds and is operable up to a speed of approx. 30 mph. The intelligent lightweight construction, which uses aluminum for substantial parts of the bodyshell, doors and luggage compartment lids, helps to achieve an excellent power-to-weight ratio.
Porsche Stability Management (PSM) provides stability at the limits of sporty performance. Available as an option, enhanced Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) offers continuous adjustment of damping forces based on the selected mode. Dynamic performance can be further improved with optional Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV). The optional Sport Chrono Package includes dynamic gearbox mounts for the first time. They contain a fluid with magnetic properties, which enables them to adapt instantly to driving conditions and counteract the effects of inertia. The results are perceptibly more stable handling during performance driving, as well as a higher level of ride comfort.
